  16. haute cuisine; of a heart attack; in St.-Remy-de-Provence,
  17. France. Chapel, who in 1973 at age 35 became the youngest
  18. master chef up to that time to win Michelin's coveted
  19. three-star rating, has lured thousands of gastronomic pilgrims
  20. to his restaurant in Mionnay, a town near Lyons. Among Chapel's
  21. culinary triumphs: gateau de foies blonds, a gossamer creation
  22. of baked mousse of chicken livers and beef marrow with a
  23. lobster-and-cream sauce, hailed by Craig Claiborne as "one of
  24. the absolute cooking glories of this generation."
